Daniela Kovačić Muzio (1983) is a figurative painter born and raised in the Chilean Patagonia who is currently working in Chicago.
Her work explores different topics around the human condition and self-identity. Largely through the depiction of women and children.
"My artwork is constantly responding to events in my life, is a journey of reflections upon the things that trouble or fascinate me. In a way, I try to make sense of the world through painting. Most of the time I develop a subject matter through series, that way I allow myself to explore and analyze my own perceptions".
Kovacic has received prestigious awards and scholarships such as Fulbright, Becas Chile, the Robert Gamblin Painting Award, and New York Academy of Art scholarships and residencies. She was one of the ten finalists for The Bennett Prize 2019 where selected paintings were exhibited for two years in different museums and establishments around the USA and won the Eben Demarest Award in 2021. Her latest achievement being the Sheng Xinyu Award 2025.
Her work has been exhibited and published internationally. She has a master's degree from the New York Academy of Art and a bachelor's degree from Universidad Finis Terrae, Santiago, Chile.
